    It’s been quite a while since my wife and I left Christianity. We have no regrets on leaving. My wife and myself often wonder why we were hoodwinked into being believers in the Christian God in the first place as we were not raised into any faith belief.

    This really spoke to me as someone who is, to put it mildly, politically homeless. I feel like I’m assailed on both sides by folks who think speaking their “truth” in the loudest voice possible makes them correct.

    Valerie, ever since reading your book Trusting Doubt about 5 years go, I have been “blessed” by your continued clarity and the evenhandedness you so eloquently bring, to practically any topic you engage. I say blessed tongue in cheek (obviously), as I too am a former evangelical, but what you do is nothing short of a miracle – having a mind flayed by religion, and yet living through it to successfully talk about it! So thankful for you, and what you do. Please keep it up.
